I have been obsessed with weddings and events since I was a child. My mother was (and still is), a wedding photographer and she would hire me for $1 an hour to carry her camera bags and act as her assistant at weddings, and I just fell in love with them. I loved every part of it; the invitations, the dresses, the ties, the flowers, the venues, the food, the dancing, the photography, and the tradition of it all - (even the ones that were not traditional because the couples were starting their own, new customs). More than all of the elements and details that go into a wedding or event, I loved the FEELINGS. I loved all the feelings of excitement, love, appreciation, admiration, pride, bliss, surprise and even the chaos. Each one felt like a beautiful, perfect tornado…and I was hooked.

Fast forward to my adult life, I was employed by a property management company that owned a Victorian mansion. The company decided that we were going to restore both the building and the property and make it even more beautiful than it had been originally, and so we did.

Once it was ready, it opened to booking events and eventually I was given the title of “Wedding and Event Coordinator,” my DREAM job! It started off slowly, which was perfect, I was able to learn and train with an experienced coordinator, which allowed me to focus on every element, so each wedding or event was perfect.

Over time more and more guests booked the venue and I was able to fully encompass all aspects of creating and executing amazing weddings and events. Recently, the venue sold where I had coordinated hundreds of events over a 10-year period.

The night before the real-estate closing I went there, walked around, touched everything for the last time and laid on the floor for hours and wept. I cried because all of the memories of every bride, every groom, and every guest who had ever walked through those doors came flooding back to me. I mourned, and then I picked myself up off the floor and went home.

At first I thought that I could live my life without weddings and events at the forefront of my existence. Honestly, I was wrong. . .my heart and soul yearned for them, I longed for the way the couple along with their family and best friends enveloped me into their close circle, if only for a day.

That being said I have decided to develop my own wedding and event coordination company named: EnchantedPlanner.com. I would love to hear all about you and your story, and serve as the Fairy Godmother for your enchanted wedding or event.
